Born in 1968 in St. Louis, Andy Cohen has always been passionate about reading and the news. After highschool he studied at Boston University, where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism and proved his talent very early on, when he worked as an intern at CBS together with another intern who has also built an amazing career and has become well-known since then, Julie Chen.
For a while he was worried that he would not be able to appear on television because of a physical defect – he has what is called a wandering eye - , but his talent seems to have been able to overcome that defect. He spent a decade with the network, working at CBS News and acting as producer of The Early Show as well as other shows such as CBS This Morning and 48 Hours. While he was employed with for CBS, he produced coverage materials for the most important news of the period, including the Oklahoma City bombing, floods of the Mississippi and other major events.
He joined the cable network Trio in 2000 as vice president of development and talent and later on Bravo, after Trio was purchased by Bravo in 2004.
