Most of Gabrielle Union's net worth was made while acting. Whether it was on the CBS drama "City of Angels" that lasted for eleven episodes. Or in the movies "Cradle 2 the Grave", both "Think Like A Man" movies- combined the two movies have grossed $129.7 million. "Deliver Us From Eva" which is a retelling of "Taming of the Shrew that co-starred LL Cool J and established her as a gifted actor, distancing herself from actors who only appear in romantic comedies. "Cadillac Records" as Geneva Wade; a woman who would later marry Muddy Waters; the movie also starred Beyonce, Jeffrey Wright, and Adrien Brody. "Bad Boys II"- which grossed more than $270 million dollars, and a movie that co-starred Kirsten Dunst- opposite Union- called "Bring it On"- this is the movie that showed she was to be taken seriously in acting.
She also starred alongside Regina Hall, Mike Epps- the two played Trixie and Ed Norton respectively- and Cedric the Entertainer- who played Ralph Cramden- in a remake of "The Honeymooners" where Union played Alice Cramden. "The Perfect Holiday", which starred Queen Latifah, Union said she enjoyed working both with Latifah, and with the kids in the movie because they were not trained as actors and she felt they gave more genuine performances. She based her performance in the film as a single mother with three kids off of her mother and sister, since Union doesn't have kids of her own.
She is also an actor that is highly sought after. A couple of roles that Union has done, were actually written with her in mind. These films are a reworking of "Night Stalker" which was a short lived series on ABC and "Daddy's Little Girls" a Tyler Perry movie.
