Lamar Odom's basketball skills were noticed since high-school. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas high-school, and then he followed one year at the Rhode Island College. It was in high-school when he was first named player of the year by the Parade magazine.
Odom’s career started when he began his classes at Rhode Island College. After his first year there, in 1999, he was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team. However, he was suspended on his second year, after breaking drug-policies twice and admitting to using marijuana.
