She was born on July 30, 1963, in Encino, California. After finishing her studies at the Vassar College, with a major in Biology, she decided to pursue a research career, focused on the study of headaches. She was part of her father’s research team for eight years. The decision to pursue a career in acting came after this period. Her career focused since the debut on comedy, she began by enrolling in comedy and improvisation theater troupes, and then started casting for various roles in TV productions and comedy series.
Her first major role in a comedy series was that of Ursula, a waitress, in the production “Mad About You” (1992).
